Nora Finch
Nora Finch is the founder and editor of Dressing Time. She came to this from the other side of the return label: years in e-commerce customer service and size operations, processing thousands of return reasons, and noticing that roughly half of them could have been prevented five minutes before checkout. The site's position is hers — a return is rarely bad luck. It is a constraint nobody checked: the size chart, the care symbols, the loop width, the airline's published carry-on dimensions.
What she covers
Nora writes about clothes and the things that carry them as a single system of constraints. On the clothing side, that means fit guides built around one ruling measurement and fabric explainers that keep the original numbers — ounces, millimetres, grams. On the carry side, it means checking a bag against the limit it has to clear: the overhead bin, the airline's published size, the laptop sleeve's actual dimensions. One constraint per article, worked through completely.
The running series
Two series carry her byline. The Return Preview is a pre-flight check for an order: measure where it matters, compare against the brand's own chart and against what you already own, and decide before checkout — including the cases where the honest answer is to skip the purchase. Carry Check takes one bag or case at a time and runs it against the published constraint it will meet in real life. Both series end the same way: the one number to measure before you order.
How she works
Published numbers only. Size data comes from brand measurement charts or official airline tables — never from "we measured it" unless the measuring actually happened. Where a figure is missing, the article says it is missing instead of filling the gap. She is willing to write that a brand's size chart cannot be trusted, but every verdict ends in a checkable action rather than a complaint. No emoji, no exclamation-mark pileups, American English.
